80 IS THE NEW 60!
Remember when you thought anyone who was over 60 was ancient? Those of you on the heels of six decades probably feel a little differently now. Turns out, you’re on to something.
Today’s seniors are healthier and more active than they used to be, and it’s the 80-somethings that are looking for a good time. That’s why this summer, Seattle TEAMNet Partner, ENTCO, is producing several retirement home events specifically tailored for the senior set… and their families.
First on tap? A 1950’s Sock Hop, complete with lots of socks, dancing exhibitions, photo opp’s, and circa 1950 celebrity look-a-likes. Sure to rev up the crowd, this ENTCO produced event will also focus on family interaction, complete with costumes and contests.
As ENTCO as learned, events geared toward retirement centers should appeal to not only the seniors who live there, but also to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, so as to create a celebratory environment that allures families to the centers.
A major initiative, retirement centers realizing the value of events are beginning to use them to attract new residents, who want more from their twilight years than good food and a nice room.

Just think about it....If Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley were alive today, they’d be 84 and 75 respectively. Makes you think about old age differently when put in those terms, doesn’t it?”
